Dear Joyce and sisters and their families,

 

Your  mother Lamia was our first cousin.  We do miss her laugh and her happy smile.  Widad talked to her frequently.  Though we are far and away from each other, yet we became very close and we will miss Lamia very much.  She made us happy and smiling every time we talk on the phone.  We are very sorry we were unable to be with you to celebrate her life. May God give you comfort and patience in your time of sorrow.  Our best love and wishes to all.

                  I am so sorry for your loss, Mrs. Rafeedie was a staple in my life growing up.  I was blessed to be babysat by her awesome daughters.  She would always greet us kids when we played around the neighborhood.  I will always remember her kindness and smiles.  Also she has been a great friend and neighbor to my parents.  We will MISS YOU Lamia, I will Miss you.

Dear Joanie and family,
My heart goes out to you at this difficult time, and I have tears in my eyes as I write this. I am fortunate, at age 47, to have both my parents alive and well, but I have still suffered the devastating loss of loved ones. My husband's father passed away from cancer a little over a year ago, dying peacefully in our home after we had nursed him during his long illness, (and his mother some years before that, also of cancer), and my best friend died two years ago, just 46 years old. Only time heals those losses--time and lots of love and support. I am so glad Joanie has her sisters with her, and I am sure many friends and family in California to support her at this time. And when she comes home to Sweden, you can be sure her friends will be here to gather her in a great big comforting hug.
